JDS recently completed this garden renovation job for a domestic client in the Mayfield, Midlothian. Our turfing installation specialist’s Byron and Brendan were up to the task and made quick work of the garden so our client could enjoy the space as soon as possible.
The first phase of the garden renovation included skip hire, waste removal and garden landscaping!JDS Gardening took care of all the logistics and arranged for the hire of a skip to be left on the driveway which was the most cost-effective waste removal option. First the team dismantled and disposed of the old shed and the pergola. Next the backbreaking work was to dig out and remove numerous shrubs in the back garden, remove all the stones, octagon patio and slabbed area in the garden (saving some for later re-use). The waste had all to be carted to the front of the property for disposal.

The second phase of the garden renovation involved treating and preparing the soil for the new turf installation.
Next, we used a cultivator to break up the existing soil to help improve the soil health and allow for better planting. The health of the soil was further helped by spreading a thin layer of topsoil and sharp sand to help the fresh turf root properly. Next the team set about laying the turf over 65 square meters carefully unrolling and joining the turf together. The finished product is stunning!
